Commission was estab- lished in 1991 and was the . |: outcome of a local workshop ee on ‘*Better Communities” and was attended by over 50 inter- ested citizens, The purpose of . the Terrace Seniors Advisory Commission is to advise the City Council on current and future issues which concern the seniors of the Terrace area. The eight members, compris- ing the S.A.C., are appointed by city council and meet once a month (excluding July & August) to discuss and share information and concems tegarding the welfare of the elderly citizens of the area. AILEEN FRANK Twice in four years a brief concerning the. needs of seniors in our area has been presented to the Minister Responsible for Seniors on such topics as the lack of af- fordable housing for seniors .and the lack of adequate space for seniors requiring long term care. oe .
