During the month of May there
were thirty-one fires in the dis-
trict patrolled by the local force
of forest rangers. Of this num-
ber all were extinguished by the
regular rangers without extra
cost to the province except five.
The Carnaby fire was the most
expensive of all and it is still
being patrolled.
