OBJECTIVES OF THE REGIONAL TOUR

The objectives of the regional tour of John Jansen and Norm Jacobsen will be to meet all
of the elected representatives of the region. These include Mayors and Councils, Regional
Boards, School Trustees, and Chamber of Commerce Executive members.

Meetings will be held throughout the region to gather information and ideas from the
grass-roots level. The groups. will be encouraged to present to the Parliamentary
Secretaries briefs detailing all current and proposed economic initiatives as well as any
concerns relating to services development.

Following the series of meetings, a concise brief will be prepared and presented to the
Minister of State to enable him to prepare a strategic plan for the region for submission
te Cabinet.

In keeping with the overall strategic plan for the mainland southwest region, ongoing
regional meetings will be held by the Parliamentary Secretaries to enable citizens
throughout the region to have the opportunity to share their input.
