SUBJECT: Bicycles on Patricia Avenue F

Recommendation:

That signs be installed at both ends of the pedestrian
footbridge at Patricia Avenue and the Coquitlam River
prohibiting the riding of bicycles on the footbridge.

Backqround and Comments:

This recommendation is in respons

@ To a complaint from a
lady whose child was hit by a bicycle white walking across the

footbridge. This ts an area of continuous concern. Although
the signs alone will not solve the probiem unless rigorous
enforcement also takes place, it will give the pedestrians some

iegal protection particularly if the signs are covered by the
City Bylaw.
