November 17th, 1975 Mayor Campbell advised that the Royal Canadian Legion had agreed to his suggestion that the programme be set up by that organization; however, the City still pays for the cost of the programme leaflet. Ald.Mabbett re spending allowance- Bpeople in Sr. Citizens' homes Alderman Mabbett stated his understanding that people living in senior citizens' homes such as Hawthorne Lodge receive a spending allowance of only $25.00 per month, and he suggested that the Provincial Government © should be requested to increase this amount. Moved by Alderman Mabbett: Seconded by Alderman Keryluk: That a letter be sent to Premier David Barrett, with a copy to The Honourable Norman Levi, Minister of Human Resources, requesting that the monthly allowance received by people living in various senior citizens’ homes be increased, Carried.
