This brunch was part of the celebration for the 80th aniversary of the Legion ae atid I have. to say, this orga- nization ‘has over those 80 years contributed greatly to our community, And to all those people who have heen dedicated members, you should ‘be proud that you have been dedicated members of the Terrace community. Certainly they have all helped io make Terrace a better place in which to live. And to them J say a big con- gaatulations for all their hard work and many hours of volunteered tine. ‘While at the Mother’s Day lanch with a few friends, we met some out of town guests. There was, of course, no hospital in Terrace at that time so mothers either had their babies at home, or caught the first train out of town. They either went to Prince Rupert or Hazelton- depending on what way the _ train was going that day. In 1934, Mr. Oliver built to attend the Royal Canadian Legion’ s aoth a anniver- their home at 4641 Lazelle Ave., where the Cookie Jar Bakery is today. The house was sold to Lary Pmden and it was moved to 2311 South Kalum where it is still Standing ‘today after 64 years, Noreen Icft Terrace in 1965 to live in Calgary and both of her parents are now deceased. Noreen grew up in Terrace and has been very good EASY TO GET INTO friends with Grace Warner and Margaret Casey, whom she is now visiting.
