My dog “Arnold” is a black lab too, but perhaps more intelligent than Duke. As | went out to feed the pigs that evening, Roger asked me to put his dog into his truck so the two dogs wouldn’t go off together. Next morning, as | was going out to feed the pigs again, | let Duke out. After breakfast, we saddled up and Roger and | rode out, Jolned by my nelghbor Floyd and my boy Mat- thew. About an hour into the ride, the dogs took off chasing something. We walted a while for them, but they didn’t come back so we continued on. Roger was really worrled about later, but Duke was not with him. | told Roger if his dog didn't come back, he could have mine. We were gone most of the day with Roger complaining about his lost dog. . We finally returned home and there was Duke waiting for us. Roger was so glad to see that pup, he was hugging and kissing him —. a sight to behold. Not flve minutes later, however, Roger was kicking his dog and curs: ing him every name under the sun. Roger had looked into his truck and discovered the Duke had chewed the seats and dashboard to shreds. The next day at work | was telling the guys about our ride and Roger was there, not at all happy. One of the guys finally asked what sort of dog he had. “Dashhound,” | piped up. “He eats dashes.” Contributed by Theo Georgiou (-. his dog.
