The Terrace Standard, Wednesday, May 1, 1996 - A9 Out & About Motel rises in Thornhill AN EIGHTEEN unit motel rising on the outskirts of Thornhill could open for business as early as June Ist, It’s going to be called Costa Lessa Motel and it’s being built by Ed and Diana Johnson. The 10,100 square foot structure at the corner of Seaton Ave, and the Hwy 16 East frontage road is now mostly finished on the outside, and interior work is well underway. , The motel features some: units with kitchenettes, larger suites, and fireplaces, There’s also an 1,100 square foot recreation centre on the upper level that in- cludes sauna, hot tub, and gym equipment. ‘Ed Johnson said they’ve invested close to three- quarters of a million dollars into the project. Johnson said he normally builds spec houses, adding this is his largest project to date. And he’s already got plans to expand the motel.
