Whereas the act of volunteering one’s services to the community benefits the entire community
as well as the individual;

And Whereas Voluuteer Week Recognizes the dedicated efforts of the citizens of our
community who give freely of their time, abilities and energy in helping their fellow citizens;

Now Therefore I, Leonard M Traboulay, Mayor of the Corporation of the City of Port
Coquitlam, DO HEREBY PROCLAIM the week of April 17, 1994 to April 23, 1994

"VOLUNTZER WEEE”
in the City of Port Coquitlam.

His Worship, Mayor L.M. Traboulay introduced Anuj Parik, Hastings School Student who gave
an informative report regarding the benefits to the students and the community, of. providing

sufficient funding for schools and equipment.

His Worship, Mayor L.M. Traboulay introduced Mary Kendall, The Social Justice Committee
representative who gave a brief description of their concerns regarding Chloramine as a
secondary disinfectant in the drinking water.

That the information presented to Council by Mary Kendall, representing The Social Justice
Committee, regarding Chloramines in the drinking water be referred to the Environmental

Protection Committee.

That Bylaw Ne. 2856 be read a first time.
