May 25, 1992/146 WHEREAS Colony Farm is an important green space located in both Port Coquitlam and Coquitlam at the mouth of the Coquitlam River, and is the last large tract of publicly owned old field habitat, riparian habitat, and estuary farm land in the Greater Vancouver area; WHEREAS Colony Farm receives considerable public use for walking, jogging, bicycling, bird watching, and nature appreciation; AND WHEREAS the Burke Mountain Naturalists will be hosting the 3rd Annual Colony Farm Walkabout on May 31st, 1992 to introduce the general public to this area, NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED THAT I, Leonard M. Traboulay, Mayor of the Corporation of the City of Port Coquitlam, DO HEREBY PROCLAIM May 31st, 1992 ass "COLONY FARM DAY” in the City of Port Coquitlam and urge all citizens to join in the walks and other activities planned for Colony Farm.
