ALTERNATE BOARD MEMBER POLICY

1. Appointment:

(a)

Rach member municipality and school district shall
appoint an alternate board member to the Library Board
when a prime member is appointed and shall advise the
Executive Director of the details of the appointment.

The Executive Director will ensure that each alternate
member receives complete Board packages to keep them
familiar with library business and events.

Board members. should inform their alternates if they
are required to attend any meetings in place of the
regular board member.

Board members shall inform the Executive Director if an
alternate will be attending a board meeting in their
place.

If neither the prime nor alternate board member can
attend a board meeting, a temporary alternate may
attend in their place provided that the Executive
Director has been informed of the name of the appointee
prior to the meeting date.

tf temporary alternates attend a meeting without prior
notification, they will not receive credentials at the
meeting and will be given observer status.
