As you may recall from last year's All Sports Ice Scheduling meeting,
notice was given that che Port Coquitlam Figure Skating Club stood an extremely
good chance of hesting a Provincial Championship in 1984 and che fact that the
Pigure Skating Club have not had exclusive use of our Recreation Centre for a
special event since the 1980 Fraser Valley Zone Championship. ;

I am pleased to advise that on April 30, 1983, at the Annual General.
Meeting of the Canadian Figure Skating Association - B. C. Section, held in
Vancouver, the Port Coquitlam Figure Skating Club was awarded the 1984 B. Cc.
Section Precision Championship. ‘ oo mo,

: Using past performance as the criteria, this Championship should
draw in the neighbourhood. of 40 precision teams from all parts of the province,
which could consist of: between 700 ~ 800 competitors, not to mention the rela~
tives and friends that would accompany them. : :

: ., .For your information, attached please find a copy of the presentation
made by the Port Coquitlam Figure Skating Club. ae the B. C. Section A.G.M. and
a copy of the letter sent by Mrs. Carol Skuta, Chairman of the B. C. Section,
officially awarding the Championship to Port Coquitlam.

You will note from Mrs. Skuta's letter that the B. C. Section would
like the Championship held on Saturday and Sunday, February 25 and 26, 1984.
In view of this, we respectfully request your consideration when allotting che
ice for the 83/84 season in allowing us the total use of our Recreation Centre
on the dates mentioned thus enabling us to host this prestigious Championship.
