SUBJECT: Parking Restriction at the corner of Commonwealth
Street and Imperial Avenue -
Public Works Committee, April 26th, 1983

RECOMMENDATION:

‘That parking be restricted on the west side of
Commonwealth and an the south. side of Imperial for
approximately 100 feet either side of the intersection of the

two streets.

BACKGROUND AND COMMENTS:

. .A telephone request was received by the Committee
pointing, out the problem of vehicles parked | around the curve at
the above intersection and the lack of any street ‘lighting. It
seems that vehicles park at this’ location for two reesons.: One
is for access to the back entrance of Rite-~- -Way Equipment
Rentals and the other is for access to the footpath leading to
the McDonald's parking lot. The telephone caller pointed out
that vehicles. approaching. this intersection swing wide in order
to avoid the parked vehicles and create a hazard for vehicles
coming. in the opposite direction during) conditions. of poor

visibility.

should. be permanently | restricted to parking at any time.
