SUBJECT: DEPARTMENT. OF HIGHWAYS LANDSCAPING

Report from the Planning and Zoning Committee meeting held September 16, 1981.

The Planning and Zoning Committee have heen reviewing rezoning requests for
those properties that front onto Lougheed Highway. In an attempt to upgrade the
visual character of the highway, the Committee has required all applicants to

submit detailed landscaping plans.

It has become apparent that the Department of Highways is not maintaining their

Properties along Lougheed. The recommendation by the Committee is that a letter

be directed to the Department of Highways requesting that they landscape and maintain

their land along the Lougheed Highway, within the boundaries of Port’ Coquitlam.
