Telephone Company should be commended for attempting to reduce telephone rates for pensioners. Dist.Maple Ridge From The Corporation of the District of Maple Ridge, August 27th, re meeting with local MP & MLA, 1975, advising of a joint luncheon meeting with R. Wenman, M.P., and P. adjacent munici- palities,etc. Rolston, M.L.A., for 12:00 noon on Friday, September 26th at the Alouette Inn in Maple Ridge in order to bring matters of concern common to the Municipalities of Port Coquitlam, Pitt Meadows, Maple Ridge and Mission, the Dewdney Alouette Regional District and School District No. 42 can be brought to the attention of the said elected representatives, and inviting representation from the City thereat. Alderman Traboulay suggested that the sending of a representative to the meeting be discussed later in Committee and to this members of Council generally agreed. REPORTS: Mayor Campbell re From Mayor J.M. Campbell, August 28th, 1975 referring to a report Regional telephone rates en the TV news that the B.C. Telephone Companv is going into a Regional rate within a very few months, and commenting that this idea was put forth by the Port Coquitlam Council and that he hoped this may have in some way been involved in that decision. Alderman Laking, in speaking to the report, advised that while the B.C. Telephone Company has not definitely agreed to go into < regional rate, it has agreed to set up a Committee with the Greater Vancouver Regional District to study the proposal.
