Mainland Planning Congress to be held on Wednesday, February 14th, 1973, and His

Worship the Mayor sug sgested that the Aldermen let the City Clerk know aif they

would be attending this function in order that approptilate reservations could be .

made,

mittee had been received this afternoon and had been circulated. to the Council

be tabled for three weeks. Carried.

Alderman Mabbett advised that it had come to his attention that the “Seventh:
Port Coquitlam Cubs & Scouts had discontinued their monthly paper drives due to
the City's recycling program and he suggested that this action by the. Cubs &
Scouts was premature and that they ‘should be entouraged to continue their efforts

in the field of paper collection.

ved be advised that the Council is in favour ir of them contitinigg paper and bottle

Engineer, advised that excellent Progress was being made with the Greater Vancouver

Regional District concerning “the City’ s request. for financing of a pilot: recycling

project and that the collection and recycling of paper may commence in April of
this year.
Alderman Traboulay advised that he hoped to have the.first 1973 edition of

the City's newsletter out in the month of March.
