Barges Wrecked on Fraser Tete Jaune Cache,,May 26:— Two large barges with sixty tons of supplies for the railroad camps at Fort George, upset yesterday while attempting to’ shoot the Grand Canyon of the Fraser, About one hundred yards separ: ated the two barges when the attempt was made to negotiate travelling at a speed of thirty miles an hour, the first barge struck the bank when about half way through the canyon, and in- stantly turned turtle, The last barge crashed into the first and ing each barge jumped for their lives, and by clinging to the wreckage, safely floated to the quiet waters a mile below.
