Presently the old man lifted. his head from the cushion and glanced across the verandah to where Marchia’s Little Boy Blue lay fast asleep. Grandpa Blue bad been happy in the lazy hour until Swaggles, the ent padded across the verandah. Seemingly annoyed at this intrusion into his solitude the old man’s fingers tightened. onthe knob of his stick, and he lifted himself to a sitting posture. “Seat! Get ont of here, Swaggles.” Swagegles came to a halt, and turned slowly as Grandpa got to his feet. _ Then mjestically, round and round the yerandah the old cat proceeded, al- ways careful to keep just out of Grand pas reach, But Grandpa persisted.
