Pound spent several days down the river last week visit- ing at Kitwanga, Cedervale and Skeena Crossing. On Wednesday afternoon Mrs. Winsby entertained at tea, Mrs. (Rev.} Pound entertained anumber of ladies at afternoon tea, - Miss Helen Grant of Smithers spent a few days at home this week with her parents. A number of the ladies enjoyed a sleighride to New Hazelton the first of the week. Fire destroyed the house and contents of Frank Martin last week, Thos. Day of Edmonton was in town this week adjusting the loss. Frank carried $900 in- surance, M. J. MeLeod arrived from the coast the first of the week on a business trip. He has been for- est ranger at Findley Forks fora number of years. ' McLeod and Terry, aeroplane men, returned to the coast Tues- dav night after spending several days here overhauling the Hazel- ton plane. They hope to get an air service established this spring to the far north. If their plan materializes they will have one of the best of money-makers as the demand for passenger and freight space to the. Dease Lake country will be heavy. Dr. “Lawson of Ottawa, eve specialist connected with the In- dian department, was here Wed- nesday inspecting the Indians, Last Sunday night in the Union church there was a large conpre- gation to-take part in the song service, which was-led by Wm. Grant. Special selections were given by Dr. and Mrs. Large and Mrs. MacKay. Thursday afternoon Mrs. Jas. Turnbull gave a tea to the ladies, and it wasa very pleosant- and successful affair. Dawson, proprietor of the Omineea Hotel, is making preparations for the accommoda- tion of tourists this summer.
