From. the Health Committee, Nay 23rd, 1974, advising that in 1973 the Commi-

ttee was notified by the Pollution Control Branch in Victoria that it was consid-

‘recommendations ina report prepared by Associated ‘Engineering | Services with res-
pect ta ‘the application were adopted by the Council and transmitted to the -Pollu-
“tion Control Branch, and that information has. now been ‘received indicating that
the permit, will be issued in accordance with those recommendations, ‘The Connittee,
in its ‘report, stated that one of the requirements was that the uncontaminated dis-
charge from the plant. be Separated and directed into the City's 8 Storm sewer System,
and that ‘the Engineering Department has asked the Committee to. reconmend that this

discharge is acceptable to the City Providing that the cooling, water is not dis-

charged at such a hi igh temperature as to cause unsatisfactory conditions downstream.

the Pollution Control Board be advised that with respect. to issuance of a pollu-
tion control permit to a local firm, Kennametal, Incl, the uncontaminated discharge
from the plant to be separated and directed into the ¢ City's storm sever systen is
acceptable to the City providing that the cooling water is not discharged at such

a high temperature as to cause unsatisfactory conditions downstream:
