Federa- tion of Labor president Ken Georgetti said following Wednesday’s court ruling. The federation held an expanded execu- tive council meeting Wednesday afternoon to reaffirm the B.C. action program against the anti-labor legislation and to consider some new Strategies to widen the scope of opposition to Bill 19. Among the proposals reportedly being considered by the federation is a open letter- petition campaign aimed at giving tangible expression to the widespread public support for the demand to withdraw the legislation. Federation communications director Tom Fawkes said Wednesday that the federation will continue with its program of action, including the work-to-rule and overtime ban as well as a media campaign and sup- port for union members or affiliates who face discipline from employers for their support of the program. At the weekend convention of the B.C. Government Employers Union, Georgetti reiterated the federation’s intention to boy- cott all aspects of the legislation should it become law, a boycott that is expected to be announced formally when — and if — Bill 19 goes to third reading. see FED page 12 Sa vo i Se a ——s Sere FES EOL
