May 26th, 1980.

Residents in the Essex Avenue and Inverness Street area spoke in
favour of having the fire truck In Sun Valley Park and one resident
pointed out there were problems with people loitering in the park prior
to the installation of the fire truck.

Alderman Traboulay referred to the letter recelved May 7th, 1980
and asked for clarifleation regarding some of the orlgiaal people whe
signed the petition {in favour of the fire truck now changing thelr minds,
Mrs. Day responded to this inquiry and stated she had been advised of
thia bute that none of the residents concerned were present. Alderman
Traboulay stated in hin opinion he would noe like to see the fire truck
removed but that it sheuld be cleaned up and made safe. Alderman
Mabbett referred to the Letsure Aetivitden Committee!s recommendation to
place the fire truck in Sus Valley Park but that ft was to be eleaned up
and painted first. Alderman Wright advised of his coneern regarding che
present condition of the fire truck and asked Mra. Day regarding her
Beatement that the flre truck devalued her property and Mrs. Day replied
although she has net had ber property reevalued she felt chia would be
the case,  Aliderman Wright commented on the safety factor of children
climbing undernwath the Cire truck and getting stuek and ptated that
this would have to be correeted. Alderman Ranger suprested that the
bottom of the fire truck be enclosed with concrete to keep the children
from going underneath. Alderman Keryluk advised the Parks & Recreation
Committers did net make a recommendation to Couned) as this matter was lo
he referred to Committees for disneussdon firet. Mra. Ke. Muldeon, 346
Laurier Avenue advised she had been fa the park and her dauphter very

much enjoyed playing on the fire truck,
