need for the Boys' and Girls' Club is a time slot after sehool until about 6:00 p.m. I note from previous correspondence that the Dalkey Building was turned over to the Boys' and Giris' Ciub, the New View Society and the Cadets on the understanding that they would sort out the use of the building between the 4:00-6:00 p.m. time slot. Apparently the Boys' and Girls' Club have never been able to resolve this and the New View Society has continued to occupy the building during these hours. I believe this can be resolved and from the point of view of the Boys' and Girls' Club, they would be entirely satisfied with using the Dalkey Building for their programme. The New View Society receive funding based on the number of client-hours they operate and the reduction of time from 5:00 p.m. closing, back to 4:00 pem., might affect their Grants. They are prepared to vacate the’ building by 4:00 p.m. providing there can be agreement on three points: 1. There are two small offices, one presently used by the New View Society, the other is a joint office used with the Cadets. The New View Society would like to continue to occupy these offices until 5:00 p.m. each day, although they would not expect exclusive use of the joint office. 2. They would like the Boys' and Girls’ Club patrons to not enter the building prior to 4:00 p.m. daily and would like some co-operation in having them gather at the side of the building until the New View patrons vacate as there is inevitable conflicts with the two groups. 3. The New View people would like an opportunity to have a further review of this in the Fall. It would appear that these arrangements are agreeable to both parties and that continued use of the building by both parties can continue, enabling the Boys' and Girls' Club to carry out their Latch- ‘Key programme. It would be my recommendation that we ask the New view Society to co-operate with the Boys’ and Girls' Club by making this particular time slot available and that we make some money available to do the required improvements to the Dalkey Building to make it comply with the Fire Marshals regulations. I realize that this is an old building and is
