JAN 2 0 i975 TO: Mayor and Council January 17, 1975 FROM: Building and Protection Committee % cy RE: Shaughnessy Mall Request For Sipn . The Building and Proteciion Committee met on Wednesday, January 15, 1975 to discuss the application from Walburn Neon Ltd. for a rooftop sign at the Shaughnessy Mall building. The Committee reviewed the matter with Mr. George ' Horner the owner of the building. facing Shaughnessy Street, on the plan indicates that t later detail", | owner would like The drawings accompanying the information. The Committee did not feel that: the location of signs as proposed in the original iand use contract would be aesthetically pleasing and it was suggested to the owner that two signs, one at either end of the building mounted at right angles to Shaughnessy Street and located on the parapet at the first floor rooftop level would be preferable to six signs located as shown on the plan accompanying the iand use contract. As the contract indicated that l-ter detail would be provided and also the number of signs would be reduced the Committee felt that this would not be in contravention with the existing land use contract, LDP:da attachment
