THE CORPORATION OF THE CITY OF PORT COQUITLAM TO: LR. Zahynacz, P.Eng. DATE: March 26, 1993 City Engineer FROM: Anne T. Pynenburg PROJECT: No. 609 Project ‘iechnician SUBJECT: REQUEST FOR FUNDING FOR SIDEWALK INSTALLATION ON THE NORTH SIDE OF WILSON AVE. BETWEEN DONALD ST. AND THE LANE EAST OF SHAUGHNESSY ST. RECOMMENDATION: That the Public Works Committee allocate funds for the installation of a sidewalk on Wilson Ave. between Donald St. and the lane east of Shaughgessy St. at an estimated cost of $7,009. BACKGROUND & COMMENTS: Attached is a letter from B.C. Transit requesting that the Engineering Dept. approve the relocation of a bus stop from Shaughnessy St. northbound to westbound Wilson Ave. nearside Shaughnessy St.(See map attached) B.C. Transit may install a concrete pad at this location or they may leave it as a grass area. My suggestion for sidewalk installation was prompted by this bus stop relocation and the fact that this is the only section of Wilson Ave. from Kingsway to Shaughnessy St. that does not have sidewalks. OPTIONS: 1) Put this section of read on next years budget for 1994 Estimated cost is: 39m @$175/lm = $6,825.00 If BC Transit places a concrete pad for the bus stop, the sidewalk could be installed at the same time.
