City Engineer AWARD OF TENDER - DOMINION AVENUE PUMP STATION That Council authorize Freemont Holdings Ltd. to award the tender for the construction of the Dominion Avenue pump station and associated storage pond excavation to Merletti Construction Ltd. at the tendered price of $799,887. That Council recommend to Freemont Holdings Ltd. that the ditching and culvert portion of the this contract be re-tendered under a separate contract. As part of the requirements under the Dominion Pump Station & Associated Drainage Works Agreement between the City of Port Coquitlam and Freemont Holdings Ltd., the City is to approve the selection of the contractor for this work. Freemont Holdings received three valid bids for this contract. Hamilton & Associates tendered the work for the pump station, storage pond and ditch work such that the ditch wor: is optional. Attached is a tender summary. It is recommended that Council authorize Freemont Holdings Ltd. to award the contract ‘or the pump station and the pond excavation only, to Merletti Construction Ltd. for the following reasons: l) Merletti Construction Ltd. is the lowest bidder for the pump station and associated pumping portion of this tender. . a 2) | Merletti Construction Ltd. is the only one of these three contractors who has constructed a pump station of this nature. | 3) The ditching and culverts portion of the contract is optional and Merletti Construction has submitted a relatively high bid for this work. — It is also recommended that Freemont Holdings Ltd. re-tender the ditching and culvert portion of this contract as there are more contractors that can do this type of work.
