March 17th, 1975 A regular meeting of the Municipal Council of The Corporation of the City of Port Coquitlam was held in the Council Chamber, Port Coquitlam City Hall, 2272 McAllister Avenue, Port Coquitlam, B. C. on March 17th, 1975 at 7:30 p.m. His Worship Mayor J.M. Campbell, Aldermen J.J. Keryluk, E.W. Mabbett, P.F. Ranger, and L.M. Traboulay in attendance. Also in attendance were Chief Administrative Officer L.D. Pollock, City Clerk R.A. Freeman, City Engineer V.C. Borch, P. Eng., Recreation Director Janna Taylor, Fire Chief W.S. Wingrove, and Works & Utilities Superintendent G. Ulmer. CONFIRMATION OF MINUTES: Moved by Alderman Keryluk: Seconded by Alderman Mabbett: That the minutes of the regular meeting of this Council held on March 10th, 1975, be taken as read and adopted. Carried. CORRESPONDENCE & REPORTS FOR INFORMATION: From the Senior Ruilding Inspector, being the report of building permits issued for the month of February, 1975. In view of the reduced activity, particularly with respect to single family dwellings, Alderman Mabbett inquired whether staff reductions in the Building Department had been considered and the City Administrator advised that that Department had always operated on a minimum strength and that there are now the Chief Inspector and two other Inspectors on staff; however, he agreed that Alderman Mabbett had made a valid observation and the situation would be continually reviewed. From the Royal Canadian Mounted Police, March 10th, 1975, being the February, 1975 Municipal Folicing Report. In discussing the report, Alderman Traboulay suggested that the amount of crime perpetrated by juveniles be segregated and reported separately in the Criminal and Drug Activities Report. From the British Columbia Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals, February 28th, 1975, being the February, 1975 Service Report of the Pound Operation. Alderman Keryluk commented concerning Operation Tatoo and stated that the cost was $2.00 for S.P.C.A. members and $4.00 for non-members, and that it provided permanent identification of a dog.
