That the usual spring and fall burning periods be discontinued, commencing immediately. 2. residents of the City be advised they will be permitted to put out those items intended that for burning with the normal household garbage. That Carried. ITENJ IV MATCHING GRANT FOR RECYCI,ING. Alderman Gates referred to the availability of. a $ 1,000.00 grant from the Greater Vancouver Regional District for matching recycling. Recommended. That the Committee Secreta y be instructed to apply for the Greater Vancouver Regional District matching grant for recycling in the amount of $ 1,000.00. Carried. G.V.R.D. ITEM V SPPuIYINC AT MERIDIAN VILIMGE. Alderman Gates referred to the above noted he had been advised that a contractor working subject and stated that for the G.V.R.D. had sprayed the grass and shrubbery for the control without giving the residents of the facility prior of weeds/insects notice and he thought the Committee should procedure register its objection to this Recommended. That the Committee Secretary be instructed to advise the Greater Vancouver Regional District of the Environmental Protection Committees concern that a G,V.R.D, contractor would conduct spraying for weeds and or insec.ts at I'Jeridian Village without previous notification to the residents.
