Healer by Harriett Fjaagesund Peter Morris is a heater, but he doesn’t practise his craft with pills or potions of all the other paraphernelia ’ of modern medicine. Peter Morris is a spiritual - healer, and a member of the Na- tional Federation of Spiritual Healers of Great Britain. He was recently at the Nirvana Meta- physics Center in Terrace for lectures and private consulta- tions. A ship builder by trade, and a man who has a deep and abiding love for the sea, Morris looks nothing like the stereotypical BG Terrace Review — Wednesday, June 5, 1991 sees gift as normal and natural idea of what you’d expect a spiritual healer to look like. He doesn’t wear long white robes or a peaked hat with strange sym- bols on it; he’s an ordinary man with an unusual gift that he says is not unusual at all, and is one we each possess. _ ; His first experience with the spirit world was in England dur- ing the war when he was about seven years old. On his way to school one morning he was walking past a house that had been bombed the night before. Two men were cairying a woman, who was obviously “Pm looking at her, at: the stretcher, and I suddenly see this woman stand up, and the spirit . walking along side her physical body looking down, looking at. the men, looking back at the house. Then she looked at me, and I guess she realized I could | see her. She smiled and nodded, then she was gone. The funny , thing is, it seemed the most natural thing to me.”” ~ After that, Morris says, the experiences But growing up with this ability to see people who have died moving off into the spirit realm dead, out of the houe on a didn’t make his life any easier. stretcher. Simple and easy, a flatteting neckline ‘and.an attractive hairstyle (which we analyzed last week) can be a definite bonus, and make us feel better about the shape we are ‘on top. ‘As a teenager | was known for awhile as Peter The Gook.” It was during his early medita- tions that Morris became in- terested in healing. While in meditation he would move into a trance state and be visited by ‘“eminent people from spirit who would take him into teaching areas. He says the experiences and lessons came at the same time. Morris says we all have spirits “and guides, that we're like a _ team. For whatever reason we. ‘come to the earth ‘‘plane,”’ whether it’s for a new adventure. or to rehash an old one, we leave part of our team back in spirit; _ they are there to help us when we start to look for that help. ° When asked why so many of "us never seem to experience any of this, Morris replied that most people simply don’t devote enough time to it, or that we try too hard and this can cause distractions. “It’s a very light energy, a very gentle energy. Some energies are as fine as a feather touching the fine hairs on your face; ‘ghosts’ don’t make noise.”’ Meditation itself is a healing process that he says has nothing to do. with negative energy. It’s an in-built ability that all human beings have, and has been writ- ten about many times. He gives the bible as an example; there are references to the body’s spirit having the ability to repair and look after itself. He adds that visiting angels, complete in the classical sense of having wings and a tremendous ra- diance, are often present in spiritual healing. Morris points out that re- covery from a disease or illness or injury of some kind is not done by the healer, it is done by ’ «the individual themselves. If an individual has decided that they will die of a heart attack at noon — _ today, then they probably will” despite. modern medicine or spiritual healers; the individual always makes the choice. What the healer does is to help the per- son realize that they can heal ' themselves. “Cancer is an interesting disease because we all have it. Every human being has the can- cer cell within them. It’s become painfully obvious that if we can ‘manifest this disease then we should be able to transmute this disease.” Spiritual healers are now ac- cepted in hospitals in England, something which has come about in just the last 10 or 15 years, ‘‘The London Cancer came more often. Peter Morris: It's a very light energy, a very gentle energy. Clinic now have quite a few healers working there, and they found that there was something like 62 percent of terminal can- cer patients recovering. We're not saying that we’re better or different than the medics, it’s just that the medics rely so much material and physical ways of healing. “When you see the healing taking place in a clairvoyant way —— and you don’t have to -be clairvoyant to be a healer be- cause we're all healers — if it’s an abscess or tumour you can actually see the healing going in- to the tumour; it appears to ex- plode and disappears without a trace. There is no trace of the disease throughout the bodily fluids. With leukemia it’s like a kid’s sparkler all around the body and the entire blood sys- tem.,’’ : Morris, who says he’s had on- ly two colds in the last seven years, and those only because he wanted a break from work, adds that documented evidence shows. that people who tend to view life with a positive attitude rarely become ill, When he does occa- sionally feel something like a cold coming on, he sits down and meditates, visualizing those. bugs being destroyed, and it always seems to work. When asked why there is such an increased interest in self- healing and psychic phenome- non in general, Morris replied, ‘7 think because of the state of the world and the planet earth, with the amount of wars and destruction that keeps happen- ing, there is alot of focus on try- ing to heal the planet itself. ‘*1 think there are 173 wars g0- ing on as we speak. We're on a tiny little planet and we can’t even exist peacefully together. So people are looking for another way to exist peacefully on this planet. It’s also quite in- teresting to see how many groups are trying to fight this movement, They don’t want only the peace and quiet, they ‘want fire and brimstone and all that kind of thing.”” As for the mystique surround- ing anything related to the spirit realm, Morris remarks, ‘‘It’s a fact they used to burn witches, whether you were a witch or you weren’t, they used to burn them alive; it was the only way to cure the devil that they saw in them. It’s a rare case where an entity can enter into someone’s ‘ awareness, They might be able to intrude, but not in a negative. way, like in ‘these exorcism — movies. “This fiery furnace is just an — inheritance from those days of ignorance. If there’s a hell, here it is; look at the problems we can create right here on this earth. Take Iraq, was that not a little piece of hell? Isn’t it a piece of hell when we start destroying ourselves and our friends with negative thoughts and energies?”’ , Another subject Morris touches on is past ‘life ex- periences, or reincarnation. We are always moving forward, he says, experiencing and learning as we slowly progress toward whatever our ultimate goal is, and toward the God energy, but sometimes experiences from past lives can affect this one. The: most dramatic experience he had with this was with-the wife of an Air Canada pilot who was physically and emotionally ter- rified of flying. While exploring a past life with her, Morris discovered that in 1916 the woman, who was a man in that previous life, had been involved in a plane crash in which she (he) had been thrown clear, but was forced to watch another person in the plane literally burn alive. Three weeks later she phoned Morris from Sydney, Australia, explaining that she had flown there with her husband, that her fear of flying had disappeared. Morris calls this a past life hangover. Guides often choose a male personna, but they contain both the male and female gender. ‘’The interesting thing when you talk about the upsurge of energy _is that it’s predominantly female energy, which is the prime energy of the earth. This female energy is predominant in most males: the gentleness comes through clearly.” And as for skeptics, Morris remarks, ‘*People sometimes tell me that I’m strange. And my answer to that is that we're all stuck on the outside of a piece of mud flying through space; now that’s really strange! Science is stranger than fiction. As the man said, there’s more in heaven and earth than meets the eye.’’ ccipe tat agian ig Dee ee RRR oS
