The Brandon students were here last week touring the northwest from Prince Rupert and Kitimat to the Nass Valley. “Tt was vety scenic when the clouds lifted,”’ one student said. They took in some difficult walking in the lava beds of the Nass Valley and enjoyed Nisga’a hospitality at the home of chief Rod Robinson. : For some the high point of the week was a ride on the Prince Rupert water taxi. > Many had never seen the ocean before, and to them it was a spe- cial moment. Another student went with his Thornhill ‘twin to Work Channel where they went fishing and crab- bing. ‘Yet another hit his moment of glory when he found a few, flakes of gold in his gold pan at Kleanza Creek. Many friendships were made and the two groups parled compa- ny last Friday. - The Brandon students say they are also planning to lake their Thornhill counterparts to an army base and to oil fields near Ver- den, Man. .
