recreational fields

TERRACE — If you are.

planning a family picnic
or organizing a ball or soc-
cer tournament in Terrace
this spring or summer,
you need to know how to
book the fields.

The City of Terrace -

Parks and Recreation
Department is responsible
for booking all School
District 88 ball diamonds
and soccer fields,. the

Northwest Community.

College ball diamond and
soccer field, the Thornhill
Community Grounds ball
diamond and soccer field,
as well as the Terrace
Parks and Recreation ball
diamonds.

Bookings for organized
league play and tourna-
ments for groups, such
as Terrace Minor Softball,
Terrace Minor Baseball,
Terrace Youth Soccer,

‘etc., have the first priority

and are assigned their
times in March. This
allows the organizations
time to set up their
season’s schedule,
Requests for booking

the’ parks for church or

family picnics -and for -

tournaments should be

‘made before the end of

February so that the
department is aware of
these and do not have to
bump regularly scheduled
activities to accommodate
them.

Terrace has many active

sport leagues, both for
children and adults, and

including the sports of |

baseball, softball, soccer,
cricket and field hockey.
New organizations start
up each year as more peo-
ple become interested in
outdoor activities. This

League will be starting.
Most league play starts in
late April and, if you are
interested in playing, it is

best to register with the.

organization soon.
