TERRACE HERALD, TERRACE, B.C. 4 MONDAY, APRIL 26, 1871 Top band coming ‘to An American band, choral ’ group and fifteen voice vocal ensemble, from Ketchikan Alaska will be in Terrace Tuesday night for a concert, The band, the Kayhi Concert Band, consists of the top 56 band Musicians in the Ketchikan area chasen from the four secondary school groups. Music on the bands program ee will be marches, overtures, some heavier concert music, selections from a hit Broadway play and an original number composed by the band-director Wally Ost and entitled “Midnight Sun Salute.” The Ketchikan group also features a Pep Band that plays a lighter popular style of music. In court Elmer Foster, 33, of Terrace was fined $300 in Terrace Provincial court April 24 for impaired driving. Foster also had his license suspended for 30 days. KXKXX Soloman Marsden, 21, of Prince Rupert was fined $300 in Terrace Provincial court April 24 for impaired friving. His drivers license was suspended for 30 days. XX KKX Gordon Morrison, 24, of Terrace was fined $250 in Terrace Provincial court April 24 for impaired driving. Morrison’s drivers license was suspended for 60 days. XKXKX John Gair of Terrace was fined $30 in Terrace Provincial Court April 24 for - failing to., produce a drivers license. - XXKXX Vesta Brown, 25, of Terrace was placed on three months probation by Terrace Provincial court April 24 for obtaining transport by fraud. She could not pay for a $1.50 taxi ride. XXXXXR Alfred Boucher, 46, of no fixed address was sentenced to a total of nine days imprisonment Thursday when he plead quilty to one charge of vagrancy and another charge of being in possession of stolen property. RCMP checked Boucher near The Motel when he was seen Boing through some parked cars. Boucher had a first aid kit valued at less than $5 in his possession. The kit was reportedly taken from one of the cars. . The accident occurred about thirty miles out of Terrace when the youth failed to negotiate an s-curve where the Yellowhead highway crosses the railroad tracks. RCMP are investigating. PE Terrace The Pep Band began as a group of musicians who played at school sports activities and grew into a polished group with a stage-band sound. The group features special arrangements for the ‘Sabre Dance", jazz, and lighter rock sounds. | . The pep band will play day time concerts in schools in the Terrace and Kitimat area. Along with the two instrumental groups there are two vocal groups; the Kayhi Concert Choir and the fifteen voice Kaytones. Under the direction of Richard Ackley the choir will present a varied program of Classical, popular, show tunes and contemporary choral arrangements, The Kaytones are a group of fine young singers who were brought together by the Ketchikan Band group.
