THE CORPORATION OF THE CITY OF PORT COQUITLAM B.R. Kirk March 4, 1992 City Administrator LR. Zahynacz, P. Eng. City Engineer SUBJECT: Pedestrian Bridge Improvements- Cedar Drive & Lynwood (Public Works Committee Meeting of March 3, 1992) That Council approve the installation of steel pipe wing walls at the pedestrian bridge over the Cedar drainage ditch at Cedar Drive and Lynwood at an estimated cost of $2,000. That $2,000 be allocated from the Special Public Works Capital Reserve for this purpose. The Public Works Committee considered the attached mernorandum from the Project Technician dated February 25, 1992 regarding improvements to the pedestrian bridge crossing the Cedar drainage ditch at Cedar and Lynwood, It was noted that additional wing railing is required at the entrance to the pedestrian bridge near the banks of the Cedar drainage ditch for safety purposes. A steel pipe fence (see attached standard engineering drawing No. 304) would cost approximately $2,000 and a chain link fence (see attached standard engineering drawing No. 308) would cost $1,350. The steel pipe railing fence would be less susceptible to vandalism than the chain link fence. a) .
