AND WHEREAS the Minister has refused to refer IR 910 to the
Minister of the Environment for a comprehensive
Environmental Impact Assessment by an independent
environmental review panel;

AND WHEREAS low-level military flights are harmful to the
environment, wildlife and people;

AND WHEREAS such activities have the greatest negative
impact upen First Nations and rural Canadians; -

AND WHEREAS these activities. are undertaken to prepare for
nuclear war and thus undermine world peace; -_

AND WHEREAS. such activities anywhere in British Columbia —
are the proper concern and responsibility of all British»
Columbians; .

THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED THAT Vancouver City Council. calls
Upon the Minister og National Defence and the Federal .

(a} Te cancel all Plans for low-level military flight

a3 Well as all other low-lavel military flight

training exercises in the province; .

To dismantle the military air corridor IR 910 and/or
to a comprehensive Environmental

full public consultative process,
consideration the opinions of
concerned British Columbians; and os

Province will come under the full scope of public

Scrutiny and environmental impact assesament: — |
FURTHER THAT the resolution be circulated ta all other:
municipalities and Indian Band councils lecated in British
Columbia. .
