Re: Vehicle and Equipment Purchases

Tenders have been called and received for the supply of various equipment
approved for the 1978 Budget and the following are our recommendations:

(a) Back-—hoe Front-end Loader

Recommend that we purchase the Case 580C from Butler Bros. Equipment Ltd.
for a price of $22,680.00 Tax included.

(b) 35000 G.V.W. Tilt Cab and Chassis

Recommend that we purchase the unit from I.H.C. Coquitlam Ltd. at a

tendered price of $26,711.80, tax included.

(c) 20 cu.yd. Compaction Refuse Collector

Recommend the Heil Mark IV from Reliance Truck at a tendered price of
$17,790.15, tax included.

(d) Power Road Grader

Recommend the Champion 720 Rigid Frame from Cypress Equipment Co. Ltd.
at a tendered price of $52,005.45, tax included.

I would also recommend that we purchase an optional dozer biade which is
very useful for snowp lowing and other road work:

Attached please find an explanation of the reason for not recommending
acceptance of the low bidder for the Back-hoe and Refuse Packer.
