Maren 17th, 1975 Moved by Alderman Ranger: Seconded by Alderman Keryluk: That the City Engineer be instructed to ensure that proper types of street lights are installed in all walkways in new subdivisions. Carried. Prior to passage of the foregoing resolution Alderman Mabbett pointed out that a special type of light would be required if the walkway was located immediately adjacent to residences. Alderman Keryluk then advised that he had attended the play "Godspell" that was put on by the SHAFT School and he stated it was very excellent production indeed and he urged the Aldermen and all other persons to attend if at all passible. Alderman Keryluk suggested that the City Clerk write to the University of British Columbia and suggest that the cost of growth be included in the discussion items for next year's seminar at Harrison Hot Springs and that the subject of Land Use also be included. Alderman Traboulay referred to the report from the City Administrator, March 17th, 1975, concerning the Municipal Police Contract - Manpower Increase for April lst, 1976 scheduled to be discussed in Committee later this evening and suggested that it be brought forward to Council and no objection was expressed. Moved by Alderman Traboulay: That a request be made for six additional members of which three would be female for the Police Contract effective April ist, 1976. Lost for Want of a Seconder Prior to defeat cf the foregoing resolution members of Council indicated that they were not opposed to female members coming here, but they felt that the R.C.M.P. were aware of the situation and will assign female members when they would be a useful addition to the force.
