Ferry support given

decided to join the city of
Prince Rupert in calling for the
introduction of a once-weekly
ferry service between the coast
city and the Tsawassen terminal
during the winter months,

has been lobbying for some
years now for the return of runs
to Tsawassen on the lower
mainland.

Empty bus
route cut

TERRACE — School district
officials have cancelled a bus
that for more than a month has
driven empty back and forth
from Rosswood,

The bus used to drive out to
the tiny community at the north
end of Kalum Lake at lunch
time to pick up a -single
kindergarten student there and
bring her to school in Terrace,

The student and her. mother
moved into town more than a
month ago but the bus con-
tinued to. drive back and forth
along the nearly 50km route to
Rosswoad.

School district officials
quickly cut the bus run last
week when they learned of the
situation,

“Effectively immediately,
‘that whole run: will be
caricelled,'"” Harry Eberts,. the
school district” s busing and
maintenance superintendent,
said last week,

Eberts checked and confirm-
ed Rosswood residents’ reports
that the bus was running empty.

“That's tight — we go ail the

Eberts said he hadn’ t yet
determined how much money

ty to Rosswood for several
weeks, but said the school
district does pay for busing on
