Eye appeal weeks proclaimed

Terrace — From Sept. 28
to Oct. 12 has been
declared Eye Appeal
Weeks in the City of Ter-
race.

Mayor Jack Talstra
pointed out that the loss
of sight is amongst the
greatest afflictions of
children and adults. He
noted that it is now
known that through pro-
per training and the op-

portunity to develop:

their skills, people who
have lost their sight can
grasp the joy of achieve-
ment and can come a
long way towards in-
dependent living.

The Canadian Na-
tional Institute for the
Blind is seeking support
and understanding for its
campaign on behalf of
the blind who live in our
midst and who. need
help,

port and understanding
to this program which
will strengthen and
enrich the lives of the
blind.
