THE CORPORATION OF THE CITY OF PORT COQUITLAM Igor Zahynacz, P. Eng., DATE: October 25, 1991 City Engineer C.F. (Kip) Gaudry, P. Eng. Deputy City Engineer SOUTHEAST SECTOR DRAINAGE STUDY EXPANDED TERMS OF REFERENCE That the U.M.A. Engineering Ltd. assignment for the Southeast Drainage Study be increased by $12,000 to a new total of $76,800. That the funds for the increase come from the Drainage Development Cost Charge fund. COMMENTS & BACKGROUND: Proposals ‘were called in May 1991 for the Southeast Sector Drainage Study. U.M.A. Engineering Ltd. were the successful consultant and Council approved the assignment to them on June 17, 1991 for $64,800. As reported to you in my report of September 16, 1991 I asked the consultant to provide me with a proposal for an expanded Terms of Reference that would include the rail yards and the Trenton industrial Area. Since the source of some of the water into the Southeast Drainage Area comes from these two areas is important that they be modelled and analyzed in conjunction with the Southeast Sector. | I received the first proposal for the expanded Terms of Reference from the corisultant on October 1, 1991 and suggested an additional fee of $20,330 for this work. After further review and discussions the consultant has now reduced the additional fee to $12,000 and I am recommending this amount be added to the original amount and the expanded Terms. of Reference be accepted. The Southeast Drainage Area as well as the CP Rail lands and Trenton Industrial Area can be considered as an intrical drainage scheme and therefore I am recommending that the funds for the expanded Terms of Reference come from the current Drainage Development Cost Charge fund.
