Ze That the cost not exceed $1,000 and that the monies be taken from the Parks Unallocated aceount. Background & Comments: Lions Park is the main community park for the City of Port Coquitlam. During the past four years the park has been develop-~ ing rapidly. The main area of development has been with playground equipment. Another project for the park which the committee will inelude in the C.I.P. is the addition of a waterpark. Waterparks have, over the past few years, become very popular in the Lower Mainland. By installing a waterpark, this amenity would enhance the park to become an area where families would spend the day - water has always been a great attraction for children. Presently Lions Park is well used by the residents and it is essential at this time that a logical development of the park be put in place. Another area of concern has been one of safety; the road which presently dissects the park in two, needs to be realigned. Also the parking needs to be redesigned.
