Mr. V. Borch,

City Engineer,

2272 McAllister Avenue,
Port Coquitlam, B. C.

Dear Mr. Borch:

Lincoln Avenue

In our review of Rte, 7 Lougheed and its role and ‘in our
consideration of the proposed shopping centers’ at Shaughnessy and at
Pinetree Way and in looking at development trends North of Rte. 7, it
is evident that additional local major urban street capacity in the
East West axis is essential, It was envisaged that Lincoln Avenue from
Coast Meridian west across Coquitlam River to a new major street north
of Glen Drive would fill this role. Under current policies we would be
able to recommend that the Department participate financially in the
cost of the bridge structure over the Coquitlam River,

We are at the point where it is most desirable that
Council express its position on this point so that further planning

and design can proceed,

“May I please have your views.

Yours truly,

MG Elstar,

Senior Planning Engineer,
