Re: Mosquito Control Program 1972.

Enclosed please find Part I of the final report on the 1972
Intensified Ground Control Program for mosquito control in

the District of Coquitlam and the City of Port Coquitlam.
Part II will be submitted in mid-November, . ;

There are several reasons for the decision to submit this report

in two parts. First, the entire report will be lengthy to say

the least. Perhaps it would be unfair to Council, and the program,
to submit the entire bulk at one time. Secondly, I am still await-
ing additional data from the B.C. Fish .& Wildlife Service and the
B.C. Department of Agriculture. In addition, I will be attending the
regular annual meeting of the Northwest Mosquito and Vector Control
Association in early November, and from the meeting, I hops to have
further corments for Councilts consideration. Obviously, a further
delay to include all the information necessary for this report would
not be advisable.

Part. I basically outlines the program, its origin, its preparation,
its situations, and its operations. Part IT will deal with the
results from this program as well as the problems that are involved
with mosquito control in general. ,
