[In my position as the new Presi- dent and on behalf of the Potters Guild of BC. 1 would like to thank Tam and Carol for their leadership role in the Northwest Ceramic Poundation’s formative years. I look forward to continuing to work with them on the Board. We also have potential new board mem- bers and some exciting ideas about which I will expand in future newsletters, Please note that the Potters Guihd scholar- ship guidelines have been changed. Both the Guild and Foundation Boards of Di- rectors have endorsed the changes as ones that their members can enthusiastically support. While the idea of awarding schol- arships to high school graduates or begin- ning art students is an admirable one, there was no one willing or able tu make a significant connection with potential re- cipients to be able to award a scholarship on a2 continuing basis, The deadline for appheation this year has been extended to April 30.
