a Te DE a, “A recent evaluation of the Terrace RCMP Crime Preven- tion program and its youth- oriented Shoplifting Prevention Program, initiated by Constable Ewen Harvie over two years ago, shows some positive results, A total of 576 arrest files from 1985 to 1987, were reviewed dur- ing the .evaluation, and it was determined that the number of youths shoplifting has been reduced, with 10.1 percent decrease noted in 1986 alone. The ‘Shoplifting Prevention Program involves talks, videos and brochures offered by local RCMP and Chamber of Com- merce representatives once each year to all Terrace and Thornhill Grade 7 students.
