The expertise to undertake an environmental assessment of the City, however, is not available within the Municipality, therefore the grant monies received from the Province ($25,000) plus, if necessary, some funds from the regular Department's budget will be used to contract a private consultant. The Study will be tendered without a specified ceat, although it is expected to fall within the $20,000 to $30,000 range. The City will reserve the cight not to assign the work to any Consultant, should the cost exceed the available funds. VISCUSSION : Completion of the Environmental Assessment Study will permit the Department to proceed with the preparation of a draft land-use designation map for the new Official Conmunity Plan and complementary policy statements. Should these drafts be completed prior to the end of May, 1992, it may still be possible for the City to apply for an additional Provincial Grant for the completion of the Official Community Plan work in 1992 or early 1993.
