SUBJECT: Development Variance Permit No. 78/89
for Hawthorne Lodge.

RESOLUTION:

That as recommended by the Di.ector of Community Planning in his
memorandum cf December 14th, 1990 the Voluntary Development Variance Permit be
issued to approve amendment to the Land Use Contract regulating Hawthorne
Lodge to permit a six storey elevator shaft to be constructed beside the
existing building.

BACKGROUND AND COMMENTS:

Pursuant to instructions issued by the Council at its meeting of
December 18th, 1989 the owners and residents of property surrounding the
subject property have been advised that Council are considering issuance of
this Voluntary Development Variance Permit at its meeting of January 22nd,
1990. Accordingly, at this time written of verbal submissions should be
considered by the Council and a decision reached as to whether or not the
Development Variance Permit should be issued.
