THE CORPORATION OF THE CITY OF PORT COQUITLAM MEMORANDUM TO: City Administrator March 12, 1987 FROM: City Engineer SUBJECT: Proposed Fee Schedule for Municipal Inspection - Public Works Cammittee March 10, 1987 Recommendation: That the attached fee schedule be approved for use where Developers request the City to do inspections instead of hiring a Consultant Engineer. Background and Comments: The new Subdivision Bylaw requires the Jeveloper to hire a Professional Engineer to conduct regular daily inspections of the works to be instaliad on behal# of the City unless the Developer hires the City to do the inspection. The Draposed . rates are intended to recover the costs of inspection services : Supplied by the City. . . We have shown a Sliding scaie since it is more expensive to inspect small projects than large projects. You will note that in most cases it is less than would have been collected under the old system of charging four percent of the estimated cost of-the workse On the other hand, the four percent included the cost of administration during the subdivision process. We feel that the rates are very fair and should be competitive with services which would be supplied by outside oy consulting firms. Sie ee FeE. Peters, P.
