Brown Director of Community Planning SUBJECT: Rezoning Application No. 10/86 1575 Pitt River Road RECOMMENDATION: That City Counci! direct the Clerk's Office to prepare a bylaw rezoning the Remenant Parcel! B, D.L. 232 and 384, Grp 1, NWLOD Plan 5257 Plan 5257 from RS-2 to RS~-IA. And that final reading be withheld pending resolution of the pretection of the Kilmer house. COMMENTS: This application [s for rezoning and subdivision of a large estate size parce! along Pitt River Road in the south Taylor Street neighbourhood. Neighbours owning the two large adjoining parcels are also considering rezoning and subdivision. * The application is viewed as being good in. principle as it is an infil! subdiviston that will not require additional public services. The properties are beside a primary school on one side and an arterial street on the other, utility services in the vicinity are satisfactory. . A concern about this application is the property contains the "Kilmer" house which Is an important for local heritage. The proposal that has been submitted is to leave the house standing. The house is located on five potential lots and there would be no reason for whoever purchases this property to keep the bullding. Options that are open to City Council to protect the building are limited to formally designating the building, or purchasing the part of the subdivision containing the bulldiag. eone/2 Ass (o>) nen git een ae nein te ae Sash WAKE SIGE UN ie ema Soa FERRE STE eg tots et OB om
