Aldermen Traboulay, Mabbett, and Ranger stated they would be attending the meeting with their wives; however, Aldermen Laking and Keryluk said they would have to advise later whether or not they could attend. Alderman Ranger referred to Mayor Campbell's report earlier this evening Ald.Ranger ra staff require concerning the Livable Region, and requested the Mayor to bring up the subject ments-GVRD of staff requirements at the next Board meeting now that the study has been completed. Alderman Ranger referred to the fact that the Federal Government Ald. Ranser- signs re has sent out signs showing that part of the City's new recreation centres Govt. funding new Rec. are being built by Federal funds, and stated he felt that the Provincial Centres Government's share should also be recognized. Moved by Alderman Ranger: Seconded by Alderman Keryluk: That appropriate signs be constructed and posted showing the amount of funds contributed by the City and by both the Provincial and Federal Governments in connection with the construction of the City's new recreation centres, Carried. Alderman Laking pointed out that this information is included on the bronze plaques purchased by the City for placement at the new centres. Alderman Mabbett, Chairman of the Leisure Activities Committee, Ald. Mabbett re partial then submitted a memorandum he had received from the City Engineer, closure-PoCo Trail at new April 4th, 1975, advising of a letter received from G.E. Crippen & Pitt R.Bridge approach fill Associates Ltd., March 27th, 1975, referring to approach fills at the areas new Pitt River Bridge, and suggesting that the PoCo trail be closed when fill is being placed with signs erected at each side of the work area to this effect. Moved by Alderman Mabbett: Seconded by Alderman Thompson: That as recommended in a memorandum from the City Engineer, April 4th, 1975, the PoCo Trail be closed during week days and open in the evenings and on weekends while approach fills are being placed for the new Pitt River Bridge: AND THAT the City Engineer be authorized to make an agreement with G.E. Crippen Engineering Ltd., to that effect, Carried. Ald.Mabbett re traffic situation- Lougheed Hwy. Alderman Mabbett referred to the deplorable traffic situation on the Lougheed Highway, and pointed out that no indication has been forthcoming
