Board Meeting Review

Here is a Synopsis of what the Board
has done at the last faw meatings. We
got the “Off the Wall" show on its way,

The first firing was a huge success ag was the
ghow and sale of Yukeo’s works. Over half of

interesting results

Now the fad naws, vandals altacked the Kiln
and caused a iol of damage to the lights and
burners. This ig going to be an axpensive
repair, bul not a5 expense as ie necessary
east of the chain link fence than must now ba

line of credit in order to keep operating.
We decided to accept Xerox's new

machine (not having much choice, as
we had 4 years left on our lease), but
this one is cheaper and works better!
Jane presented the yearend statement
and the 1996 budget, It would seem
thal we operated on a $17,000 loss last
year. The guild/gallery operation was
unable to support two sets of salaries.
The gallery had the best year ever in
sales $o 3 pats on the back to Jane and
her staff!

As | understand it, we hope to be oul of
the hole by the end of the current fiscal
year,

Darrel, who's organizing a billating
roster of in town members (so far only
one generous host has signed up)
suggested that we incorporate
workshops with social events so that out
of town members might find it easier to
attend.

We havan'l forgotten all the title enines
we got, that will ba on a voting form at
the AGM/Made in Clay event.

So sand in any title tdeas for the
newsletter, we alfeacy have some
rather inventive ones!

The next Board meeting will be at the
Potters Guild office on Granville Island
on Thursday, Feb. 22 at 7pm. As
always, members are encouraged to
attend.

We decided on an accountant for the
Year End Review, the results will be
available at the AGM and can no doubt
be sent out to anyone with a buming
dasire to peruse lots of tiny columns of
numbers.

tt was also poimed out that 5 positions
on the Board of Directors will be needed
to be filled,
